Nestled in the cool hills of Eastern Portland, in the small community of Dillon overlooking the coastline, you will find Linga Ya Farms. The farm has been owned and operated by the Saunders family since 2009 and has been producing a range of agricultural products for the retail and restaurant market for several years.
Although not from Portland by birth, the family has had a long-standing love affair with the Parish of Portland, which led them to purchase the property.
Linga Ya Farms' Fire-Roasted Breadfruit is our first foray into the pre-packaged, consumer goods industry.
Family and friends outside of the island have been enjoying our vacuum-sealed and packaged Portland, Roasted Breadfruit for many years and now, in an effort to provide employment for the community, you can too.
The hardworking team at the Farm.
Linga Ya Farms is registered by the Rural Agricultural Development Authority (RADA) and certified by the Bureau of Standards and the Ministry of Health. We are also a registered member of the Jamaica Manufacturers & Exporters Association (JMEA) and registered for export by JAMPRO.
Our farm, located in the fertile hills in the community of Dillon, Portland as all others in the community, provides fresh produce - Portland Proud!
Each step of the manufacturing process is meticulously inspected to ensure each and every package meets the highest standards of quality. We are proud to offer a quality, authentic, Jamaican product that we're sure you and the entire family will love.
The drive to find the best breadfruit trees (we're told we grow the best)
may be a bit hectic. So here's what we've done to make your life easier.
We believe the best roast breadfruit has to be done on wood-fire.
We also know that these days, with everything else that
you have to do, roasting a nice fit breadfruit the way Mama
used to make it, is the last thing you want to do.
We've fire roasted, peeled and packaged the finest breadfruits picked at their fullest on the tree, and brought it to a supermarket near you.
Each product is vacuum sealed and preserved with nitrogen
to maintain freshness.
